Congressional Briefing on Menopause

Some 75 million American women are currently in perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause. Once a woman transitions to menopause, her risk for heart disease, autoimmune diseases, Alzheimer’s, and other conditions increases significantly. Women can experience many symptoms, i.e., hot flashes, sleep disturbances, brain fog, and urinary incontinence – all of which can impact work, families and communities.

Lost workdays alone due to menopause symptoms cost the U.S. economy $1.8 billion annually, according to the Mayo Clinic. This briefing examines the vast impact of menopause and policy recommendations with speakers from Golden Seeds and Femtech AZ, Hello Heart, Elektra Health, the National Menopause Foundation and the NY Assembly. — See recording

Women's Health Research: Why We Need It Now More Than Ever Webinar on July 7

Women face health conditions that solely, disproportionately, and/or differently affect them yet they remain underrepresented and underfunded in research and overlooked in healthcare. Only 2% of venture capital and 8% of government grants are dedicated to women's health. This webinar highlights valuable research that is closing these gaps and is led by our Pittsburgh Chapter. The speakers are from UPMC Magee-Women’s Health, Women Who Rock and Women's Health Advocates. — See recording
